Product: Solid Edge

Date: 18-Apr-2014
Note: Maintenance Packs are all inclusive and can be installed on top of the base
release or any released Maintenance Pack.
This Maintenance Pack can be installed on top of Version:
105.00.00.102, 105.00.01.15, 105.00.02.06, 105.00.03.03, 105.00.04.03, 105.00.05.01,
105.00.06.04, 105.00.07.04, 105.00.08.05, 105.00.09.07, or 105.00.10.04.
--- Windows 8 ---
Solid Edge ST6 will be the first release to support Windows 8.
Solid Edge ST5 does not support Windows 8. Any ST5 issues that are specific
to Windows 8 or IE 10 cannot be addressed until ST6.
Based on limited testing, most Solid Edge operations (Part, Sheet Metal,
Assembly and Draft) work the same as on Windows 7 and Windows 8. On
Windows 8, we highly recommend installing Solid Edge ST5 to a non-default
location (somewhere other than the default Program Files folder).
In some cases, .NET 3.5 had to be manually activated to use Solid Edge
Tutorials, Insight, and Simulation Express.
Solid Edge License Utility, License Borrowing, Embedded Client, Insight
XT, Web Publisher, and Engineering Reference have known problems on
Windows 8 and will not work successfully with ST5.

Installation Notes:
-------------------
After downloading the Maintenance Pack to your machine, unbundle the zip file and
then dbl click on exe to install the Maintenance Pack.
Windows 7 Installation tips: In addition to turning off UAC, right click on the exe
and select "run as administrator" to complete the installation.
Windows 7 Tip: Most of the UAC security conflicts on Win7 can be avoided by installing
Solid Edge somewhere other than the default “Program Files” folder. Install in a location
like c:\SolidEdge\ that the user has full permission to write to.
MP silent installation problem: Silent installation of MPs will fail if the user installing
the MP does not have write access to the shared or local folder (where setup.exe resides).
The reason for this failure is because setup.exe needs write access to the folder in order
to write a log file. By default the log file will be placed in the same folder as that of
setup.exe. The install failure can be resolved by:
a) providing write access to the MP installation folder
b) redirecting the log file on to the machine that is installing MP
Log file can be redirected to the machine with the command: files>\setup -s -f2 . Make sure there is no space between f2 and log file name. Below is a sample command to install MP silently: \\MyServer\MySEMPShare\SE64MP5\setup -s -f2C:\temp\ST5MP5silentsetup.log ------------------- End of Installation ------------------- -------------------------------------------------- This Maintenance Pack addresses the following PRs: -------------------------------------------------- PR 6793563: When all floating seats are in use, SEAdmin would not startup Note: SEAdmin.exe is delivered in “\Solid Edge\SptTools” folder on the DVD and as such this exe cannot be patched by the MP patch release. Therefore a new SEAdmin.exe is available in the solid_edge/ST5/SolidEdge/64bit/MP09 folder. ===API=== PR 6988146: get_NumAttachedObjects() returning a positive number of attachments PR 6988067: PropertyTableAttached Attribute gets duplicated on feature removal PR 6974666: Crash calling API Sketchs::AddByPlane PR 6987955: Issue related to PropertyTableAttached Attribute after CopySurface in SE ===Assembly=== PR 1964934: Select all occurrences did not work properly for sub-sub assembly.
