SmartDraw是一套专门为制作流程图所开发的软件，有了这套软件，就可解决制作流程图的问题，让你的文件更具有可看性。
当执行SmartDraw后，就会先开启流程图的类型选项，其中有一般流程图、组织图、树形图、网络图、区块图、工程用流程图、平面图、甘特图、表格、地图、卡片和其他等等的类型，请先在此大致选择你要设计流程图的类型，SmartDraw会一你选择的类型，开启不同的工具列选项。
进到SmartDraw的视窗后：
只要拖曳工具列上的图形钮，就可新增流程图的图形。
在任一图形上按两下鼠标左键，就可输入文字，中文字也可接受。
先在图形上按一下鼠标左键就会在图形边缘出现黑色小点，在其上拖曳鼠标左键，就可以做放大缩小的动作，在内部的圈圈做拖曳的动作，就可以旋转该物件。
在图形上按一下鼠标右键就可拉出修改该图形的选单。
可再Office的任一软件中插入SmartDraw的物件。
SmartDraw另外有两套为特定行业而设的版本，分别是为律师行业而设的the SmartDraw Legal Edition和为医疗行业而设的the SmartDraw Healthcare Edition。
