Editorial and brand photographer Itsfor_Gotham teaches an introductory class and explains how emotions evoked from movies and music can inspire images.
ASSIGNMENT
Find a movie and/or song that evokes a certain emotion from you. Create a set that is based from your interpretation from that movie/song. The purpose of using a movie or film is to begin drawing connections between senses, giving you a sense of how to work with synestesia.
Make sure that you include a link to whatever song/movie that inspired your set. Take care to create a gallery that is stylistically consistent. Your final four images should all string together if looked at as a complete gallery. Successful galleries will be able to connect motion that is moving or sounds that are heard and translate them into still images. Developing your images as a set will sharpen your editing skills and prepare you for a diverse range of commercial and editorial photography. Bonus points if you can recreate a scene from a movie or a lyric from a song, use your common sense, be safe and most importantly, have fun.
