Aspen Technology is pleased to announce the availability of the 8.3 release of aspenONE software. The release includes new functionality in Aspen HYSYS software - Acid Gas Cleaning to model gas sweetening units, and Pressure Safety Valve Sizing integrated from the acquisition of PSVPlus, which allows process engineers to size pressure safety valves as an integral part of the overall process design for the first time.

Installation and Upgrade Procedures for aspenONE® V8.3

aspenONE V8.3 delivers a wealth of new and enhanced capabilities. We strongly recommend that you update your installation to the latest versions of every product to optimize performance. The aspenONE media kit includes the following DVDs:

- Aspen Engineering V8.0 DVD — Provides the full installations for the aspenONE Engineering V8.0 products.

- Supplemental DVD: Aspen Engineering — Provides the latest full installations for the aspenONE Engineering V8.3 products and patches for aspenONE V8.0 products.

- Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0 DVD — Provides the full installations for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0.

- Supplemental DVD: Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain — Provides the latest full installations for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.3 and patches for aspenONE V8.0.Installing the Latest aspenONE Engineering Products

To install the latest aspenONE Engineering products:

If you do not have V8.x products installed, you must first install V8.0. Follow the steps listed below:

1. Insert the Aspen Engineering V8.0 DVD

a. If your computer has AutoPlay enabled, the aspenONE installer runs automatically.

b. If you do not have AutoPlay enabled or you are accessing the installation media from your network share server, double-click on setup.exe to start the aspenONE installer.

2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the V8.0 installation. For detailed information, consult the Aspen Engineering Suite V8.0 Installation Guide and the aspenONE Installation Guide, if applicable.

3. To install the latest products, proceed to the next section and follow the steps to install the latest products from the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Engineering V8.3.If you already have V8.x products installed and would like to install the latest versions, follow the steps below:

1. Insert the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Engineering V8.3 DVD into your DVD drive.

2. You must apply the critical licensing patch in the Critical Installation Component folder. To ensure proper license usage, this patch must be applied after you install the products from the Aspen Engineering V8.0 DVD.

a. If your computer has AutoPlay enabled, the Critical Installation Component runs automatically.

b. If you do not have AutoPlay enabled or you are accessing the installation media from your network share server, double-click on setup.exe in the top folder of the media to apply the licensing patch in the Critical Installation Component folder.

3. To install the latest products:

a. Using Windows Explorer, go to folder \Engineering\Full Product Installs\

b. Double-click on setup.exe to start installation.

4. You must apply the latest patches by following the steps below:

a. Using Windows Explorer, go to the folder \Engineering\Patches\

b. Run the update agent aspenONE Patch Update.exe. This new update agent will automatically install the applicable patches on your machine.

Installing aspenONE Manufacturing and Supply Chain Products

There are two workflows for installing your Manufacturing and Supply Chain products. You can either install the:

- V8.3 products.

- V8.0 products.

Installing the V8.3 Products

Use the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain to install the latest versions of the following products:

- Aspen Fleet Optimizer

- Aspen Inventory Management and Operations Scheduling (Aspen IMOS)

- Aspen Olefins Scheduler

- Aspen PIMS

- Aspen PIMS Assay Management

- Aspen PIMS Platinum

- Aspen Refinery Multi-Blend Optimizer

- Aspen Petroleum Scheduler

- Aspen Supply Chain Connect

To install the latest version:

1. Insert the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain DVD into your DVD drive.

2. To install the latest products:

a. Using Windows Explorer, go to folder \MSC\Full Product Installs\

b. Double-click on setup.exe to start installation and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

3. You must apply the latest patches by following the steps below:

a. Using Windows Explorer, go to the folder \MSC\Patches\

b. Run the update agent aspenONE Patch Update.exe. This new update agent will automatically install the applicable patches on your machine.

For all other products, you must install from the Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0 DVD

Installing the V8.0 Products

To install from the Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0 DVD:

1. Insert the Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0 DVD

a. If your computer has AutoPlay enabled, the aspenONE installer runs automatically.

b. If you do not have AutoPlay enabled or accessing the installation media from your network share server, double-click on setup.exe in the top folder of the media to start aspenONE installer.

2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the V8.0 installation. For detailed information, consult the applicable installation guides.

3. Insert the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.3 DVD into your DVD drive.

4. You must apply the critical licensing patch in the Critical Installation Component folder. To ensure proper license usage, this patch must be applied after you install the products from the Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0 DVD.
