I will be teaching you a tutorial on how to vectorise your images. Remember that the key for your art or vectors to look good is a lot of patience and practice.

Based on my experience, probably the most difficult thing to do when vectoring images is Alpha masking. I too had a hard time Alpha masking when I was starting. I recommend you guys alpha masks simple 3D figures, e.g. spheres, cones etc. This really helps because of the lighting and shadows of the figure.
