Welcome to AGE – Acoustic Grand Ensembles – the most comprehensive collection of alternative ensembles ever done. AGE (Acoustic Grand Ensembles) series is produced by Academy Award, TEC and G.A.N.G Award Winning Composer, Troels Folmann and Emmy nominated composer and orchestrator, Colin O’Malley.
AGE Vol. 2 contains four different Grand Ensembles, including Concert Harp Ensemble, Cimbalom Ensemble, Marimba Ensemble and Windchime Ensemble. In addition it also contains 40 multi-sampled synths derived from the source content and additional synths by the great ambient sound designer, Steve Tavaglione. All the ensembles contain up to 10 different microphone positions. The microphones are divided into two core groups: Ensemble (Close, Mixed, Decca, Far, Wide) and Divisi (Spot Mic 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). So can choose whether you want full ensemble or zoom in on the individual instrument in the ensembles. Recorded in the same signature hall as 8Dio CAGE and our exclusive V8P series.
All the Grand Ensembles were recorded in several different ways depending on the nature of the instrument. The Concert Harp Ensemble (4) contains both sustains, 3 types of staccato, tremolo, harmonics etc. The Harp Ensemble also contains a massive section of Harp FX, including different types of Major Glissando, Fast Glissando, Rapid Strokes, Glissando Waves, Harmonic Glissando, Harmonic Chaos, Percussive Slaps and 10 custom Harp synths. The Cimbalom Ensemble contains both Sustains, Slow and Fast Staccato types, Bartok, Strummed Hits, Short and Regular Tremolos, Unique Tremolos both Picked and Muted and 10 custom Cimbalom synths etc. Other Grand Ensembles such as Marimba and Windchime Ensemble each have their own deep-sampled set of articulations custom designed for the nature of the instrument. AGE Vol. 2 also contains 80 different multi-sampled custom synths that were all designed with the source content. The entire AGE Vol. 2 library contains over 30GB (compressed from +103GB) of data and over 29.000 samples.
