Charlotte de Rothschild’s career has taken her all over the world.

With her wide knowledge of the song repertoire, from different eras, countries and genres, she has created some wonderful themed programmes; the best-known being this “Family Connections” programme which traces the musical history of her forebears with music by, and anecdotes about, the composers who were friends, teachers or ancestors of the Rothschild family during the 19th and 20th Centuries.

It all began in the early ‘90swhen Charlotte discovered a fascinating musical autograph book started by her ancestor, a previous Charlotte de Rothschild.

The contents have been the source of great interest to musicologists world-wide and Charlotte made this recording in 1993 when the family were celebrating their 250th anniversary.

Recognized as one of the leading accompanists of his generation, he has worked with many of the world’s greatest singers including Sir Thomas Allen, Dame Janet Baker, Olaf Bär, Anna Netrebko, Barbara Bonney, Dame Sarah Connolly, Angela Gheorghiu, Susan Graham, Thomas Hampson, Della Jones, Simon Keenlyside, Angelika Kirchschlager, Dame Felicity Lott, Christopher Maltman, Karita Mattila, Dame Ann Murray, Anna Netrebko, Anne Sofie von Otter, Joan Rodgers, Michael Schade, Frederica von Stade, Sarah Walker and Bryn Terfel.

He was a given an honorary doctorate at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2004, and appointed International Fellow of Accompaniment in 2009.

Malcolm was the Artistic Director of the 2011 Leeds Lieder+ Festival.

He was made an OBE in the 2016 New Year’s Honors.
