更新包括最初测试版本中Unity地形系统中的变化,另外地形笔刷工具现在可以在GPU上运行,而且现在可以在多个地形块上进行绘画。
地形网格法线也已从底层几何减弱,使细节独立于网格LOD水平。
上图中显示了原来的per-vertex法线(左)和新的per-vertex法线(右)。
另外,新版本中还新增了两个重要的工具集作为技术预览。
第一个是视觉效果图,Unity的新框架用于创作比现有粒子系统更复杂的效果。
另一个是新的GPU渐进光映射器(GPU Progressive Lightmapper),替代现有的基于CPU的光映射的GPU烘焙系统,在GDC 2018年度大会上发布,最初原本计划要添加到Unity 2018.2版本中的。
GPU渐进光映射器是在OpenCL和AMD的Radeon-Rays资源库的基础上创建的,因此该系统应该可以在任意GPU上运行然而,预览只支持Unity的一组有限的照明功能(不支持双面GI、非阴影投射几何或烘焙LOD),并且目前只适用于Windows系统。
