Focusing on the earliest stage of pre-production, inspiration becomes the artist's most important weapon in pitching an idea to a director.  In this class, Aaron Limonick demonstrates bringing an abstract ink experiment to a realized conceptual sketch using Adobe® Photoshop®. The focus of the sketch will range from industrial design to creating a traditionally painted look and a textural surface within the digital medium.   While the demonstration will cover a multitude of digital painting techniques used to create concept art, it will also stress the importance of inspiration and the link between influences cg-ku.com and the final product itself. Aaron will give his account of working as a concept artist in the entertainment industry, while searching for unique sources for imagery and creative stimulation.

Aaron Limonick earned a BFA from Art Center College of Design in 2005 with distinction. He found that entertainment design was the ultimate venue for design and collaboration. His first job in the industry came about through a fellow graffiti art collaborator in 2004. Since then, Aaron has worked as a concept designer and illustrator on a number of projects including: Tony Hawk® and Guitar Hero® franchises, GUN, Deadwood, Drawn: The Painted Tower, The Bourne Conspiracy, and Transformers: War of Cybertron. He is currently working at Naughty Dog, Inc. located in Santa Monica, California.
